Our Lives are Full of Sunshine
A recent British study suggests that girls who get plenty of vitamin D (400 IU a day) – have stronger muscles than those who don’t. A good source of vitamin D – fortified milk or milk alternatives, fortifies OJ, supplements, and good old fashion sunshine!

My Home is a Place of Peace
Seriously stressed parents and kids tend to have weak immune systems, according to a University of Wisconsin study. It found higher antibodies levels in children who’d gone through trauma. Teach your family the power of breath and lead by example, RELAX! (Parenting, May 2009)

My family has strong healthy bodies.
A study in the Journal of School Health found that the more PE tests that kids passed, the higher their sores in English and math. Some evidence suggests regular exercise pumps up body and brainpower. And moms, let’s be honest, we need help with our concentration too. Get outside and run wild or on rainy days, have a dance competition. (Parenting May 2009)

I can make it through this day without selling my children or my husband to gypsies.
Feeling tired? Is that exhaustion pulling you out of the moment? Have a cup of coffee or a tall glass of ice tea. Studies show a good jolt of caffeine is as efficient as an extra 74 minutes of sleep. We all know that proper sleep and lots of water does the body best but sometimes (a lot of times,) we need a quick fix to make it through our day.

My children are lucky.
Or course, they’re lucky. They have you as their mom. Believing in luck inspires us to try new things, even if those things are challenging. According to research by Maia Young at UCLA, “The more you think of luck as a stable personal trait, the more you feel personal agency.” By believing in luck, you feel special and more in control. If you have faith in luck, you’ll open yourself up to more possibilities and create more self-confidence in you and in your family.(Psychology Today. Aug. 2009)
